As a veterinary epidemiologist, I consult food animal producers all over Europe. The use of Biocheck.UGent for audits on farms has standardized and facilitated my assessment of the various biosecurity features that are very important for preventing disease. Farmers appreciate the reports and the benchmarking system, and it inspires them to take biosecurity seriously.
Very recently, I have installed disinfection pumps at each entrance of the farrowing units. Now disinfecting our hands has become a routine!
