Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming representatives from Lionel's Vet and Number Two Piggeries (Pty) Ltd. (South Africa) to Belgium as part of their European study tour 🌍
During their visit, we went to a Duroc d’Olives pig farm and visited the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine - Ghent University, to learn more about pig production in Belgium and the role of biosecurity in maintaining animal health.
A key highlight was the introduction to Biocheck.Ugent, our biosecurity risk assessment tool that helps producers and decision-makers evaluate and improve biosecurity practices on farms. The visit provided a great opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss how biosecurity can contribute to healthier and more sustainable pig production systems.
