Our Chief Science Officer, Jeroen Dewulf, together with Alistair Antonopoulos, Johannes Charlier, and Evelien Biebaut, has co-authored a new book, Biosecurity for Livestock Diseases in Europe, outlining key strategies to prevent disease and improve animal health.
Developed through our involvement in the BIOSECURE project, the book offers essential insights into disease transmission, risk factors, and the role of modelling in improving biosecurity across Europe’s livestock sector. The book is divided into two main sections: endemic diseases in European livestock and epidemic transboundary threats like African Swine Fever and Avian Influenza. It presents detailed entries on each disease, including current biosecurity measures across poultry, swine, cattle, and small ruminants.
This resource is ideal for researchers, veterinary professionals, and students and complements the PARAMETRA transmission modelling database. This book is now available through CABI Digital Library, Amazon, and eBooks.
